Cher Monsieur,
L’Administration du Muséum a reçu plusieurs caisses contenant de nombreux objets de
collections que vous avez bien voulu lui offrir; on me signale notamment votre magnifique
envoi d’Insectes australiens (Hyménoptères, orthoptères et hémiptères) dont plusieurs
espèces n’étaient pas représentées dans nos Galeries.
J’ai l’honneur de vous adresser mes vifs remerciements pour les témoignages continus
de l’intérêt que vous portez au développement de nos collections.
Veuillez croire, Cher Monsieur, à l’expression de mes sentiments très dévoués.

Dear Sir,
The Administration of the Museum has received several cases containing numerous collection
objects that you have been kind enough to offer to it; my attention has been drawn
in particular to the magnificent sending of Australian Insects (Hymenoptera, orthoptera
and hemiptera), several species of which were not represented in our galleries.

M planned to send boxes of specimens to the Museum in 1895; in M to A. Milne-Edwards,
30 April 1895 he wrote 'I will endeavour to send something to you by every voyage of the "Australien",
though it is often difficult to secure rarities'. M to A. Milne-Edwards, 11 November 1895 (in this edition as 95-11-26a) Is the next surviving letter to Milne-Edwards, and it is not known when the specimens
of the groups mentioned in the letter were sent.
