Dear Sir Ferdinand,
By this steamer I am sending you two small parcels of specimens of a

Rhaphidophora?
from the Daly River.

NT.
In one parcel the leaves and in a bottle of spirits (in another parcel) 1 fruit. I have got these specimens from the head of the Catholic mission here, the Revd Father McKillop and if the plant turns out to be new I should be glad if you would name it after him as the discoverer.

M judged it not to be new; see M to N. Holtze, 5 November 1895.
I hope you will be able to determine the plant from the specimens sent and shall be glad to know, as soon as you have done so, its name, as I have a lot of young plants that I could distribute. Father McKillop says it climbs up trees in very moist situations.
I have a small collection of specimens very nearly ready to send you. Hope to do so by the next steamer.
How are you progressing with the additional volume of the Flora?
I trust that you are in good health.
Believe me
Yours truly
Nicholas Holtze
