came duly to hand, I will note carefully the contents and write again soon. On Monday & yesterday I spent a long time in the hills and gullies near Port Elliot, searching for minute plants, and orchids, some of which I send by same post — I also brought down a good number of tubers of the orchid no 427 ( not yet determined) I will send these tubers to you in moss in a day or two The no 456 is growing on brackish quaggy low lying soil, and if the plant no 465 is the same it grows amongst the granite rocks high & dry, except that the sea spray frequently dashes over it — I am taking careful notice of the little Plantago, and think it is only a small form of P. varia, as this plant is now taking the place of the smaller one — I will send more specimens of the minute plants soon.
This week I received a letter from Mrs Weber-Van Bosse

— she is well, and says "We are passing the summer in a most lovely spot in the middle of a very large forest. It is a most delightful place, but sea algae are wanting! I console myself with fresh water ones of which I have also a collection" —
I shall be writing to Mrs Weber early next week and will give her your message —
With kind regards
I am Yours Sincerely
