Unter Ihren so zahlreichen Verehrern, edler Herr, nahe auch ich mich Ihnen, um in tiefem Dankgefühl für auch mir vielfach erwiesene Güte und in innigster Anerkennung Ihres langen, segensreichen Wirkens meine Felicitation darzubringen beim Jubelfest, welches Sie in die neunte Decade Ihres irdischen Daseins einführt.

Ihr bewegtes Leben hat an Sie die Ereignisse fast eines ganzen Jahrhunderts vorübergehen lassen, nie ungenützt, stets erfasst für neue Erfahrungen, immerfort fürderes Schaffen hervorrufend. Mit hoher Begabung, gediegenem Wissen, rüstiger Willenskraft und praktischen Anschauungen haben Sie auf die Interessen Ihres grossen Kolonial-Landes einen unabsehbaren Einfluss ausgeübt, und damit auch ganz besonders die Entwicklung des Deutschtums gefördert, mächtig und bleibend! Sie können zurückblicken auf eine Reihe geschichtlicher Begebenheiten von dem lautesten Nachklang daheim, die Sie nicht unberührt liessen. Sie waren und sind vom Geschick vor vielen Irdischen bevorzugt in einem glücklichen Familien Leben, und Nachkommen bis zu Kindern Ihrer Enkel können den Stammvater umringen und ehren, während er unter ihnen weilt. Möge die göttliche Vorsehung Ihnen gestatten, in Ihrer ruralen Region der Longaevität auch als beginnender Nonagenar ein Jubiläum zu feiern im Wohlsein mit Aussicht auf manche Jahre im Gefolge auch im nächsten Jahrhundert und mit gerechtem Stolz auf Ihre Errungenschaften!

Mücke celebrated his 80th birthday on 16 July 1895.

to offer my felicitations in deep feelings of gratitude for the manifold proofs of kindness even to me and in sincere recognition of your long beneficial work, which you introduce into the ninth decade of your earthly existance.

Your busy life has witnessed the events of nearly a full century unfold before you, never disregarded, always embraced for new experiences, constantly inspiring further creative work. With great talent, genuine knowledge, vigourous strength of mind and practical perception you have exerted an immeasureable influence on the interests of your great colonial country, and with this also quite particularly promoted the development of Germanness, powerfully and permanently! You can look back on a series of historical events of the loudest echoes at home that did not leave you untouched.

Mücke was forced to leave Germany after participating in the revolutionary events of 1848.

You were and are privileged in a happy family life by fate before many mortals and descendents up to the children of your grandchildren can surround and honour the progenitor, while he dwells among them. May divine providence grant you in your rural region the longitivity as a commencing nonagenarian to celebrate a jubilee in health with prospect of many years in the wake also in the next century and with legitimate pride in your achievements!
