Document is a typewritten circular sent to the heads of 15 branches within the Chief Secretary's Department.
Melbourne, 27th June, 1895.
Sir,
With a view to lighten as much as possible the pressure of work in connection with
the closing of the accounts for the financial year, I beg to inform you that the Honorable
the Treasurer requests that adjustment of advances 1894-5 may be forwarded to the
Treasury as early as practicable.
If the advance cannot be fully adjusted within the Regulation period, i.e. by the
14th July, it is desired that a partial adjustment be made so that the expenditure
may be brought to account in the Treasury and the vouchers examined in the Audit Office
without any avoidable delay.
I have the honor to be,
Sir,
Your obedient servant,
(Signed) Charles A. Topp
