The work in my branch of the service, dear Miss Walker has been so overwhelming for
many month in the rural interest of the breadwinning people, at this dire period, that I could do little of
strictly scientific work, more especially so, as I am and have been passing the
nineth enlarged
edition of my "Select plants for industrial culture
through the press, the eighth having been exhausted by gradual sale at the Gov. Printing
office here.
When the work will be out next month, I will attend to all the arrear collections
accumulated since here. Your climber is not at hand, but the
shrub
of which you sent a sprig in
early bud only
, is the Pomaderris ligustrina. it is a rather rare species, of which in summer I
wood
like to have some
well ripened
seeds.
