Agardh's correspondence archive includes a letter from Jessie L. Hussey dated Port Elliot 16 June 1895, evidently the one enclosed:
'To Professor Agardh
Lund
Dear Sir
Your Memorandum of May 3rd has been duly received by me. I am very sorry to have made a mistake in my notice of the alga "

By same mail I send more specimens, amongst which I trust you will find the true plant, when I shall be glad if you kindly return a small specimen, so that I may compare it with my original specimen no 206. I have not time to study the algs scientically [sic] at present, but will observe them more carefully in future.
I am pleased to know you have found plants in my collection which interest you.'
She wrote again to explain the error in naming
