Aus Versehen, lieber Herr Tepper, ohne die Aufschrift zu lesen, öffnete ich das Beigefügte, welches mit vielen Briefen an mich kam mit letzter europäische Post. In das Meiste, welches Sie in Ihrem geistreichen letzten Briefe sagten, stimme ich ein.

Das Benennen der Pflanzen für Correspondenten ist seit vielen Wochen in Rückstand gekommen durch die vielseitigen ruralen Obliegenheiten, welche mir für den Brod-Gewinn der Colonie in meinem Amte örtlich vorliegen. Auch hatte ich die Additionen für die 9tn Edition der Select plants fertig zu machen, da der Druck nun beginnen soll, weil die 8te Ausgabe nach u nach durch Verkauf aus der Gov. Druckerei fast erschöpft ist

Ich hoffe aber, dass Sie und die Ihrigen sich nicht entmuthigen lassen im Pflanzen Sammeln. Ich werde bald wieder an das Pflanzen-Nennen wieder kommen.

The naming of plants for correspondents is in arrears for many weeks through the varied rural obligations that are with me in my office locally for the bread-winners of the Colony. Also I had to finish the additions for the 9th edition of the Select plants,

since the printing is now to begin, because the 8th edition

B91.09.01.

is almost exhausted gradually through sale from the Government printery.

I hope, however, that you and yours will not be discouraged in plant collecting. I will soon come again to plant naming again.
