in 1885, 7 April was a Sunday, and this is the date recorded on the file and also in Topp's reply (C. Topp to M, 19 April 1895). In Topp's minute on the file (see n. 5 below), he gives the date as 6 April, but this would seem to be an error.

You further will observe, that its publications will be forwarded to me, and as these embrace all branches of science, I will forward them to the public Library. This could best be effected perhaps through Dr Bride.
Would you be on Wednesday evening for an hour free after tea, so that I may elicit your views on some few subjects in a quiet interview?

Topp minuted: 'Recommended that the Govt Printer be [inst]ructed to supply to the Librarian to be forwarded by the Ag General to the Society a copy of [such] of the Barons works of all there is still a good supply'. Topp dated the minute 6 April, but this would seem to be an error. The recommendation was approved by the Chief Secretary, A. Peacock, on 10 April.
Always regardfully your
