Es war mir lieb, gleich in Nachtstunden daraus zu ersehen dass sowohl Wilson's wie meine Sendungen so wichtiges Neues lieferten. Miss Hussey wird sich besonders über deren Erfolge freuen in Ihrer

noble Sir, a wonderful incomparable work of an octogenarian! It was pleasing to me, to ascertain from it right away in the night hours that both Wilson's and my consignments supplied such important new things. Miss Hussey will be particularly pleased about her success in her solitude as a deaf-mute.

M was mistaken. Jessie Hussey went deaf after an illness in about 1888 ('The late Miss J. L. Hussey', Adelaide observer, 25 March 1899, p. 46), she was not mute. M to J Agardh, 5 October 1895, corrected this statement.

she is a very pretty young lady with an intelligent expression. If you want I could ask this our helper also to send you her picture. If you could send me another copy of both the last Analecta,

How convenient it would be if we had a simple census of the algae of the whole of Australia, so as to be able quickly to have an overall view of everything. My census of vascular plants of Australia
