Let me thank you, dear Madam, for your thoughtfulness in sending the reviving lichen.
I found it on the Murray-River in my travels of 1848 already. Such specimens are always
very acceptable for foreign interchanges. Could you induce children or Amateurs to
collect for me any floating or submerged weeds there? The aquatic plants of your region
have never yet been fully investigated. Can I send you anything very acceptable from
here?
