Allow me, dear Sir William, to send you roots of the West African Wonder-Grass, , which highly important pasture-plant I introduced. You might like to get it gradually naturalised on meadows of yours. It would be best to keep it during the next cool season in your garden, so as to establish it, when subsequently it could from off shoots be transferred to any humid places where no severe frosts occur.
Let me kindly be remembered to Lady Clarke and be kept in your own friendly remembrance
Ferd. von Mueller.
An account of this Grass is also given in my "Select plants",

There were many editions of this work; the most recent being B91.09.01.
of which work I left gladly a copy at your City-Mansion some few years ago.
