Cher Monsieur,
La caisse et le tronc d’arbre dont vous m’annonciez l’envoi par votre lettre du 1er Janvier me sont arrivés en bon état et je m’empresse de vous en remercier. Le Dendrolagus Bennetti constitue pour nos galeries une excellente acquisition et M. le Professeur Lacroix me prie de vous remercier des minéraux que vous offrez, enfin M. Perrier sera très heureux de recevoir les vers de terre géants dont vous lui annoncez l’arrivée par le prochain paquebot.

makes an excellent acquisition for our galleries and Professor Lacroix asks me to thank you for the minerals that you offer, finally Mr Perrier will be very happy to receive the giant earthworms of which you announce the arrival by the next mail boat.
