You might like dear Dr Dyer, to put this sample of Wild-Rice into your Museum among
the Australian Exhibits.
I was the first to show its existence in Australia in 1855 & 1856 (see Hooker’s Journal),
as I found it then around pools far in the interior of Arnhem's Land,
but saw it nowhere near the coast.
