Dear Baron,
I have been a journey through the Hartz & Adamson Ranges.

I enclose a specimen of a grass that differs from any

Ehrharta?
I am acquainted with Its spikelets approach but with the inflorescence of Diplax. The habit is tufted, erect & leaves narrow or rather subulate, the outer persistant glumes are longer than in its nearer allies & it appears to consistantly bear but one stamen. It is widely diffused on Adamsons Peak growing with .
I also enclose flowering specimens of . I believe the flowers have not been seen in good condition before. It grows on a spur of Adamson's at 3,000 ft.

I examined G. fitzgeraldi carefully when I got home & I find no variation of importance from the diagnosis we have already made. I will probably add a plate of the plant in a flowering condition.

Gaimardia fitzgeraldi was described under the authority of M and Rodway in Rodway (1896). The accompanying plate illustrates a plant at natural size with enlarged flower heads and dissections.
I trust my grass is new.
