Herewith, dear Miss Brotherton, the names of your last plants.
I will ever gladly name specimens for you and other members of the Club,
but may not always be able to do so immediately, as the rural and technic work is
often very heavy in my branch of the service, and thus the naming of plants must frequently
be reserved to the calm hours of Sundays or Holidays.

M to A. Brotherton, 1894 (in this edition as 94-00-00)?
2
Castlemaine Field Ramblers' Club.
Were you on one of the Melbourne-Institutions studying?
Pray convey to your worthy father
my best greeting. I remember well his kindly features and genial bearing, and trust
that he enjoys the autumn of his life in serenity, health and joy.
3
Henry Brotherton.
Regardfully your
Ferd von Mueller
The names are written on one side of paper-sheets only, so that you can preserve them
as autography, because these manuscripts may become of some interest for authenticies
when I shall have passed away, and that may with gods will be soon. Glad to hear of
the success of the Club.
