Dear Baron von Mueller,
Ever since my letter to you went to the "Post" this morning
I have felt that I never should have tried to describe the "Sea grasses" I sent to
you — I feel now it was great presumption on my part when I know so little about them.
I was carried away with what Mr Fletcher said about seeing the spawn of a mollusc
in the spore on one of the "sea-grasses" — had I reflected more such a fallacy would
not have mislead me for under the most powerful microscopes the germs of all life
are the same. I will do my best in searching for other "Sea grasses" for you and I
hope you will forgive me this time.

With kindest regards
I am,
Your grateful friend
