MS written by a clerk and signed by M. The letter, which has the appearance of being
a circular letter, is filed among Wittrock's correspondence. There is another letter
in Wittrock's archive with the salutation 'Honored Sir' (M. to V. Wittrock, 17 February
1896 (in this edition as 96-02-17a)); it too has the appearance of a circular letter sent to Directors of Gardens requesting
seed exchanges.
Honored Sir.
Will you be so friendly, to send me a small lot of seeds of the best species of pasture-grasses
and fodder-herbs,
cultivated in your garden and available at your autumn now. I will gratefully reciprocate.

Regardfully yours
