Best thanks for your kind letter, dear Dr Broom, and the information, which it conveyed.
The deep ravines at the Upper Macleay-River
are as yet imperfectly explored for their vegetation; indeed some of them have never
been thus far examined. Perhaps Settlers near these abysses, could be induced to let
youths
of theirs collect all sorts of plants in these deep vallied, and bring a couple of
handkerchiefs full to you for selecting specimens therefrom. This could probably be
done at a trifling expense, and it would involve little trouble to yourself. Doubtless
novelties exist yet in these exist yet in these
gorges, for the discovery of which you would get full credit.
