erhalten. Dies ist eine Localität in New South Wales, von welcher Colonie verhältnissmässig nur wenig Algen bekannt sind, und wo auch die oceanische Flora arm ist. Um so mehr erfordert dasjenige, welches dort vorkommt, besondere Aufmerksamkeit. Es sind freilich nur gewöhnliche Arten, soweit wie ich sehe, aber ich sende solche doch, damit die Liste der Algen für NSW. vervollständigt werden kann. Ich habe desswegen auch besondere Anstrengungen gemacht mehr Algen von Twofold-Bay zu erlangen, als ich dort im Jahre 1860 selbst sammeln konnte. Es wird Ihnen bekannt sein, dass diese Bai auch zur aussertropischen Ostküste Australiens gehört.

By this weekly mail, highly esteemed friend, you will receive curled dried algae from the mouth of the Hunter River. This is a locality in New South Wales from which Colony only relatively few algae are known, and where the oceanic flora is also poor. Those that occur there require all the more particular attention. There are admittedly only common species, as far as I see, but I do send them, so that the list of the algae for New South Wales can be completed. I have therefore also made particular efforts to obtain more algae from Twofold Bay than I could collect there myself in the year 1860.

It will be known to you that this bay also belongs to the extra-tropical east coast of Australia.
