Ch. Topp Esqr. M.A., F.L.S., B.Sc. &c
Under Secretary.
Sir.
I have the honor to report, that I received yesterday a large bag full of the seeds
of one of the best Salt-bushes of Australia (
)
from A. McFarland Esqr of Thelingerim near Hay
as gathered at superior sheep-pastures there on my special solicitation This gathering
must have required much exertion and involved considerable expense to the generous
Donor. May I therefore suggest, that Mr M'Farland as a slight return-gift receive
on behalf of the Government and direct through the Governm. Printing Office the nine
decades of the "Iconography of salsolaceous plants" hitherto published.
