Durch diese Wochen-Post erhalten Sie, geehrter Herr Professor, eine Anzahl Meer-Algen unserer Küste, von meinem vieljährigen Freunde Mr John Bracebridge Wilson gesammelt, der ein Magister artium und Fellow of the Linnean Society of London ist und Principal (wir nennen es Rector) der Hochschule in der Stadt Geelong (in der Colonie Victoria). Er hat ein grosses Boot mit Schleppnetz, so dass er von seiner Wohnung aus an der Küste in vortheilhaften Sammel-Verhältnissen für Algen ist, und sich gewiss ebenso dankbar erweisen würde wie Hr Holtze in Adelaide, wenn Sie auch ihn als correspondirendes Mitglied in die altehrwürdige bot Gesellschaft von Regensburg aufnehmen würden. By this week's post, esteemed Professor, you will receive a number of marine algae of our coast, collected by my friend of many years Mr John Bracebridge Wilson who is a Master of Arts and Fellow of the Linnean Society of London and Principal (we call it Rector) of the college in the city of Geelong (in the Colony of Victoria). He has a large boat with a trawl net, so that he is in advantageous collecting circumstances for algae from his dwelling out on the coast, and undoubtedly would prove just as grateful as Mr Holtze in Adelaide, if you would also accept him as a corresponding member in the venerable old Botanical Society of Regensburg.

Holtze was elected a member of the Regensburg Botanical Society in 1892 and in response sent plants to the Society. Wilson was also elected a member, in 1894.
