In reply to your letter of the 19th Apr., dear Dr Dyer, let me say, that I have at once written to several correspondents in the Australian colonies, to secure fruits of and MacroZamia, according to species in the respective regions. In the colony Victoria no cycadeous plant occurs, as you will note from the “Cenus of Australian Plants”,

altho’ it is possible, that an outpost of M. spiralis occupies a position on a not yet fully explored small tract of country, difficult of access, between Twofold Bay and Cape Howe.

So soon, as of any of these plants ripe seeds, (or rather fruits) have arrived, such shall be forwarded to you without delay.
