azette, 11 May 1894, p. [2]. The date of the meeting was evidently misreported, as one item agreed was that a deputation should proceed to Melbourne 'at once' to see a Minister; the deputation went to Melbourne but was unable to see the Minister, this being reported in
Port Fairy gazette, 15 May 1894, p. [2]. Assuming that the wrong month was printed, the item is dated
to 7 May as the latest date that it could have been sent to be reported at the meeting.
