Sir,
The Chief Secretary's attention having been called to the fact that at the recent
fire at the General Post Office the hose was found to be in a defective state he will
be glad to know if the hose in connection with the establishment under your charge
is in an effective condition and also what steps are taken by periodical testing or
otherwise to ensure its proving instantly useful in case of fire.
I have the honor to be,
Sir
Your most obedient servant,
T. R. Wilson
