MS falls within established range of correspondence, August 1893 to July 1896. The top of the page is damaged; there is a pencilled note in an unknown hand: 'Jan 5th 94' that is consistent with M's sending New Year greetings; the item is dated to January 1894 on that basis.
Would you kindly ascertain, dear Mr Williamson, when you write to the manager of the Bee-Station, whether he cultivates any Honey plants purposely or whether his hives rely on native-flowers solely .

See B91.09.01, p. 537.
He will find in my inexpensive work, "Select plants for industrial culture" the best Honey-plants of the world also. This volume is obtainable at the Gov. Printing Office. With best new years wishes your
Ferd. von Mueller.
