My position to the LeMans Academy,
dear Dr Dyer, could be by you and Sir Joseph so little understood, that it will be
best for me to send a duplicate of my last mails letter,
lest the original should happen not to reach you. When suddenly called on to take
the Direction for 1893 I could not forsee the troubles which arose. My position has
been so much one international, that I took the offer for that reason, and certainly
not for any “grandezza”.
