If the distance is not too far, please fetch some more specimens of , and you may perhaps find already young fruit. I like to publish it in the November Number of the Vict. Naturalist, and more specimens would demonstrate the degree of variability.

M exhibited the new Grevillea and named it G. williamsoni at the meeting of the Field Naturalists' Club of Victoria on 13 November 1893, while his description of it was published in B93.12.02, issued on 7 December 1893. The present item is on this basis dated to mid-to-late November, that is, after M announced the name but in time for him to have included any additional information in the published report. M continued to ask Williamson to search for fruit; see M to H Williamson, 14 May 1894; M to H. Williamson, 20 September 1894; and M to H. Williamson, 27 November 1894. Williamson found it to be exceedingly rare; see H. Williamson to M, 30 December 1893.
Regardfully your
Ferd. von Mueller.
