I feel, dear President, that I should at all events write you some few lines, if I did not get ready msc. by this months meeting of your R.S.,

Tate was the long-serving President of the Royal Society of SA.
but I am still very weak after my last illness, from which indeed I have not yet fully recovered. Within the last days some time (beyond that required for the heavy daily routine-work) was taken up by the study and naming of more paintings of Mrs Capt Rowan;
