23/9/93.
Yesterday, dear Mr Deane, arrived the superb set of proof-plates for the new part of the lamented Mr Fitzgerald's work.

R. Fitzgerald (1875-94), vol. 2, part 5.
I am just on the eve of departure for the Adelaide Meeting of the Australian Association,

and must defer thus for some few days my attending to the very careful inspection of these pictures; but from a hurried glance on them, it does not appear that any much has to be altered. My aid will mainly consist, so far as I can see, in furnishing additional notes for the text. Would you be so kind, to let me know by about a week's time, to what extent the text is ready in each instance, and therefore what particular notes would be required to be added. I would know then exactly what to do, and no unnecessary redactation would take place. We would then also have some plan, on which I could aid you in future. New localities may probably also be obtained from me, if I know which are those, recorded by you. For instance, the was found by the Right Rev. Dr J. F. Turner, Lord Bishop of Armidale on the Richmond River, and by Mr Wilcox on the Clarence-River.

Both rivers in NSW.
Mr Fitzgerald may or may not have been aware of these localities. So I am expecting still further detail suggestions from you by the beginning of October.
With regardful remembrance your
Ferd. von Mueller.
