By this weeks mail dear Dr Dyer, I send you a small lot of dried orchideous plants,

I was under the impression, that I had forwarded them to Kew, though it was my intention
when I received them, to elaborate this order of plants from Dr Guppy’s gatherings,
as
were always particular favorites with me. These specimens were mislaid, and thus
went out of my thoughts, until they now turned up again, while the orchideous collections
were resorted here. As some Orchids from the Solomon-Islands were recently described
under your direction, I send the[se] now also to you.

Please
keep
the uniques (solitary specimens) at Kew Of those, not worked uniques I have a little
left here numbered. I need therefore nothing back, but like the names for the numbers.
