Erlauben Sie mir, hochgeehrter Herr Möller, dem interessanten Artikel über
, der in der 21. Nummer dieses Jahrganges Ihrer geschätzten Gärtner-Zeitung veröffentlicht
ist, einige weitere Bemerkungen hinzuzufügen.
Dieses liebliche Sträuchlein ist auf die südlichen Flussgebiete West-Australiens beschränkt
und daher nicht in den Stromregionen des Schwanenflusses vorkommend, was auch die
von mir zuerst in Europa eingeführte B. megastima
betrifft. Ich selbst sah beide Pflanzen wild in der Umgegend des King George’s Sound
in den Jahren 1867 und 1877. B. heterophylla ist von Mr. W. Webb bis zum Mt. Lindlay verbreitet gefunden worden. Sie ist eine
der nicht zahlreichen Boronien mit sehr duftenden Blumen und wurde daher dies Gewächs
auch in meinen “Select Plants” erwähnt. Wissenschaftlich als neu wurde die Art zuerst
1860 erkannt, und dann von mir benannt und beschrieben. Ich habe selbst wiederholt
Samen davon verteilt.
Es ist recht erfreulich, dass diese wertvolle Topfpflanze nun eine so weite Garten-Verbreitung
findet.

Permit me, highly esteemed Mr Möller, to add some further remarks to the interesting
article about
that was published in the 21st number of this year of your esteemed Gärtner Zeitung.
This lovely little bush is restricted to the southern river basins of Western Australia
and therefore does not occur in the stream regions of the Swan River, which also is
the case with B. megastima, first introduced into Europe by me. I saw both plants myself wild in the vicinity
of King George Sound in the years 1867 and 1877. B. heterophylla had been found by Mr W. Webb distributed up to Mt Lindlay. It is one of the not numerous
boronias with very fragent flowers and therefore this plant was also mentioned in
my Select plants.
The species was first recognised scientifically as new in 1860 and then named and
described by me. I have repeatedly distributed seeds of it myself.
It is very pleasing that this valuable pot-plant now finds such a wide garden distribution.
