My dear Baron
It is my desire to have my grandson Charles Edward Hogg, eldest son of my daughter
Mrs Hogg who is at present on a visit at my house, appointed a
member
of the Royal Geographical Society of Australasia. I therefore send you a check for
Ten Guineas to qualify for that purpose. I believe this is the usual sum required.
You will please place yourself in communication with Mr MacDonald The Treasurer for
that purpose & request him to place himself in communication with Charles Edward Hogg
at my House at Carlton
for that purpose - & oblige yours sincerely
2
Melbourne.
Thos. Black
To
Baron Sir Ferd Von Mueller
