My dear Baron
It is my desire to have my grandson Charles Edward Hogg, eldest son of my daughter Mrs Hogg who is at present on a visit at my house, appointed a member of the Royal Geographical Society of Australasia. I therefore send you a check for Ten Guineas to qualify for that purpose. I believe this is the usual sum required. You will please place yourself in communication with Mr MacDonald The Treasurer for that purpose & request him to place himself in communication with Charles Edward Hogg at my House at Carlton
