Sir.
I have the honor to inform you, that Mr G. Renner reported himself this morning at my office, and has been put to similar work as that performed by him before in my establishment.

In March 1892, the Public Service Board had temporarily transferred Gerhard Renner to the Mines Department; he was sent back to the Government Botanist's Branch when his services were no longer required there. The file includes a copy of a letter from Wilson dated 18 July 1893, in which he formally notified the Public Service Board of Renner's return and requested that the Board 'issue their Certificate for the re-transfer of Mr Renner to the Government Botanist's Branch from the 1st instant pending the provision for him of some other position in the Public Service'.
I have the honor to be,
Sir,
your obedient servant
Ferd. von Mueller,
Gov. Botanist
