MS is an annotation on a large file concerning the transfer of Gerhard Renner from M's staff to the Mines Department (see M to T. Wilson, 31 March 1892 (in this edition as 92-03-31b)) and his subsequent return a year later.
Arrangements for re-employing Mr Renner at present will be made according to the hon. the Chief Secretary's order,

On 12 June 1893 the Secretary for Mines informed the Chief Secretary that Renner's services 'in connection with the Forest Branch of this Department' were no longer required, and that Renner would be ‘instructed to report himself to your Department from which he was temporarily transferred’. This prompted the Under Secretary to write to the Public Service Board, asking that a certificate be issued ‘for the re-transfer of Mr Renner to the Government Botanist’s Branch from the 1st proximo’. M was formally notified of the re-transfer on 23 June.
but I beg to point out respectfully, that special salary will need to be provided in this case yet on the estimates, and that the room at the botanic Museum is now occupied.

The file also contains details of Renner's payments from 1885 and recommendations for his salary rate in 1893. Before being transferred, Renner had lived in the Museum as caretaker.
