Annotated in black ink by J. Baker: list of names sent herewith JGB 4/7/93, and in red ink by W. Hemsley names sent. 6.7.93 (letter not found).
Herewith I beg to send you, dear Dr Dyer, some few Fungs, which Miss Ann. Walker collected
near her home on the Paramatta-River in N.SW. She is an aged Lady, who all through
her life was fond of flower – and landscape – painting, for which she has an admirable
natural talent. As the exertions for mycology in her colony have hitherto been so
very limited, I have induced her to gather and paint any uncommon species, and this
sending is the first result, the painted drawings being posted simultaneously to you.
I have just written to her with a view of learning whether these colored sketches
may be kept at Kew.

The Mycology collections at Kew have a list of material sent by Miss Walker, but there
is no record of accompanying illustrations (personal communication from Lynn Parker,
Assistant Curator, Art Collections, RBG Kew, 10 June 2015).
Regardfully your
Ferd. von Mueller.
