T. R. Wilson Esqr
Under Secretary.
Sir.
In continuation of my recent letter, concerning the proposed distribution of the Decade
of Candolleaceous plants,
I have the honor to solicit, that 25 copies be granted to my Office, as is the case
with the public Library, so that I may have this publication available in exchange,
when new sending arrive of science-works successively, for which a reciprocate is
expected. As the edition consists of 1000 copies, as further the expenses for the
drawings, lithographing and plate-paper were borne by my little establishment, and
as probably this decade must ever be an only one, perhaps the hon. the Premier and
Chief Secretary will grant the favor sought as an inexpensive one.

The Chief Secretary, J. B. Patterson, minuted his approval on 19 April 1893. M returned the file with 'very best
thanks' on 13 May. The Under Secretary, T. Wilson, forwarded the file to the Government
Printer who replied on 17 May that 'The 25 copies have been supplied'.
I have the honor to be,
Sir, your obed. servant
Ferd. von Mueller,
Gov. Botanist.
It is hardly necessary to add, that a record of all such distributions would also
be kept at my Office. As an only decade it is inexpensive
