MEMO . from the CURATOR to
14th March 1893
Dear Baron Mueller,
I send you materials for coming to a decision, at your leisure, in regard to the specific position of one of our Grey Gums, viz: that one which commonly goes by that name in our northern coast districts.
It has often been named coast variety of E. viminalis , but that is untenable.
It is certainly nearer to E. saligna , but it & the typical saligna (Blue or Flooded Gum) are never confused with each other by bushmen.
In order to save your time as much as possible, I have tabulated the particulars in regard to Grey Gum, E. viminalis & E. saligna , so far as they may be usefully compared.

Tabulation not found.
Yours truly,
J. H. Maiden.
