The date on which M replied suggests that Bastow has written the wrong year-date and that this letter was written on 20 February 1893. This is confirmed by the dates and addresses on other letters Bastow wrote that are now in the library of the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne; on 3 June 1892 his address was 182 Brunswick Street, while on 28 December 1892 he was at 329 Brunswick Street.
