Lassen Sie meinen besten Dank ausgesprochen sein, lieber Herr Tepper, für die freundlichen Gefühle, welche Sie mir bewahren u welche Sie durch Ihre Felicitation zum jetzt kommenden Feste wieder bekundigen.
Möge die neue annuelle Spanne Zeit, in welche wir nun bald hineinleben werden, auch für Sie und die Ihrigen sich als recht freudevoll erweisen!
Diesmal kann ich meinen Glückwunsch Owen, Quatrefages u Regel nicht mehr darbringen, u vielleicht bin ich der Erste nun, den die göttliche Versehung abruft!
Hoffentlich kann ich im nächsten Sept dort sein, und mich des Zusammenkommens auch mit Ihnen erfreuen!

This time I can no longer offer my congratulations to Owen, Quatrefages and Regel,

All three died in 1892: Quatrefages on 12 January, Regel on 27 April and Owen on 18 December.
and perhaps I am now the first whom Providence will call away!
It is to be hoped I can be there next September and also enjoy meeting with you!
