MS found with a specimen of moorei (MEL 654170). While the specimen sheet is filed as moore i, it has M's label ' Pertriei Cheesman | Mt Wellington | 1892 Rodway'. It is annotated by M, 'Answ 22/12/92'; M to L. Rodway, 22 December 1892 (in this edition as 92-12-22a) indicated that the specimen was C. petriei. See an associated letter, L. Rodway to M, 14 February 1893 (in this edition as 93-02-14a), also filed with the sheet.

Dear Baron,
I enclose what I take to be a most interesting little possibly identical with the blue fruiting plant found by T. B. Moore on Mt Tyndall. I found it on a spur of Mt Wellington & it is both in fruit and in flower.
What struck me as of great interest was that though I searched over a great extent of ground I could find no purely male flowers. Those bearing stamens (4 or 5) also developing as fine stigmatic lobes as those which appeared at first sight as purely female. I have not given myself time to examine it as I am anxious to place it in your hands as fresh as possible [..] the flowers may be all hermaphrodite at all events the combination of the two essential elements in the same flower seems to me not to have been observed in before.
Trusting it may be of the interest I take it to be & with best wishes for the new year.
Believe me
Yours Faithfully,
L Rodway.
