Date stamped Royal Gardens Kew 24. Oct. 92; annotated in ink by W. Watson 490/1892 (i.e. register number in Kew Inwards Book of specimens received) and in pencil by [William Hemsley] Ackd 25.X.92 (letter not found).
The enclosed seeds, dear Dr Dyer, containing some few well developed grains, are from the highly ornamental , the filaments of which are deep crimson. In all probability this species is not yet in culture, as it is a very rare one.
Regardfully always your
Ferd von Mueller
