Letter not found. The text given here is from 'Answers to correspondents', Weekly times, 27 August 1892, p. 27 (B92.08.04). It is introduced by 'Specimen of Grass—J.R., Mouyong, Little River—The specimen was forwarded to Baron von Mueller, who has supplied us with the following particulars:—'.
The supposed grass is probably, so far as I can judge from the bulbs and leaves, merely a species of the iridaceous genus, Romulea, perhaps the South European R. bulbo codium

Typesetter's error for R. bulbocodium?
, unless it be one of the small South African species. When the plant comes into flower I should like to have another specimen, so that the name may be made with certainty.

There is a further comment in 'Answers to correspondents', Weekly times, 10 September 1892, p. 23, although not attributed to M:
Specimen of Grass . — J.R., Mouyong, Little River. — The grass forwarded by you is Romula bulboooduim [ sic ], a native of the borders of the Mediterranean Sea, or at all events, as far as can be judged, it is very closely allied to that species. The flowers on the specimen were shrivelled and not quite fully blown. As a pasture it is good while it lasts, but bulbous plants do not stand the hot weather well.
