and as in 3 hours the weekly mail closes I hasten to say, that the account for Dr Henry’s plants was passed by me on to treasury here already on the 9th Oct, 1891, to the amount of £22.10/- with a written request that the payment should be made through the Agent General to you.

I will in the course of the day cause enquiry to be made at the treasury here, whether possibly by some form-error the sending was never effected, and in that (not likely) case will see to the immediate despatch of the amount. So far as my establishment is concerned, the amount is beyond my control. The matter is monetarily all right , though I regret the delay which unexpectedly has arisen. I will by next weeks post communicate to you the result of the enquiry.
