Durch diese Wochen-Post, edler Freund, sende ich Ihnen eine kleine Pakete Flechten, welche während Sir Thomas Elder’s Expedition 1891 gesammelt wurden, u. ein zweites Päckchen wird mit nächster "Mail" folgen. Würden Sie so freundlich sein, bald die Namen zu senden, da während 1892 schon eine Liste der Expeditions Pflanzen veröffentlicht werden soll.

Herrn Finselbach brachte mir in voriger Woche Ihr Einführungs Schreiben, auch eins von dem Nestor Alph. DC. Ich habe mit diesem jungen Chemiker bereits zwei längere Unterredungen gehabt, und werde ihm an diesem Abend weitere Rathschläge ertheilen.

and a second small parcel will follow with the next mail. Would you be so kind as to send the names soon , as during 1892 a list of the expedition plants is to be published.

Müller supplied a report, first published as J. Müller (1892) and republished as J. Müller [given as Mueller] (1893a). M and R. Tate expected their treatment of the phanerogams and vascular cryptogams to be published in 1892, but because of a shortage of funds it was not published until 1896 (B96.14.02); see Lucas (2018), p. 816.

Mr Finselbach brought me your letter of introduction last week,

Dr W. Finselbach, aged 27, arrived in Melbourne in June 1892 aboard Habsburg.
