Lassen Sie meinen besten Dank ausgesprochen sein, edler Freund, für Ihre neue Güte, die letzten Algen-Sammlungen benannt zu haben. Ich weiss recht wohl, dass es meistens gewöhnliche Arten sind, welche Ihnen zukommen, ausser denen von J. B. Wilson, aber es giebt das Material doch meistens für einige Arten neue Standorte, wie ich es bei den vielen mir zukommenden Phanerogamen (etwa 9000 species einheimisch und conservative betrachtet) oft finde. Mr Wilson hat auch wieder neue Sammlungen in Aussicht gestellt, die Ihnen, sobald solche anlangen, zugestellt werden sollen.

Es ist recht erfreulich, dass Sie sich besser fühlen, so dass Ihre rüstige Wissenschafts Kraft noch lange weiter wirken wird. Wir sind im Alter einander nahe, und wenn ich auch ein wenig jünger bin, so werden Sie, bei Ihrer viel mehr robusten constitution gewiss mich lange überleben, was ich innig wünsche!

Easter in 1892 fell on 17 April, so that 20 April 1892 was the Wednesday after Easter.

Let my best thanks be expressed, noble Friend, for your new kindness of having named the last collection of algae. I know very well that they are mostly common species that came to you, except those of J. B. Wilson, but nevertheless there is material from new localities mostly for some species, as I often find with the many phanerogams (about 9000 endemic species and conservatively regarded) coming to me. Mr Wilson has also again held out the prospect of new collections that will be delivered to you as soon as they arrive.

It is very pleasing that you feel better so that your vigorous scientific power will still continue to operate for a long time. We are close to one another in age and even if I am a little younger,

Agardh was 12 years older than M.

with your much more robust constitution you will certainly long outlive me, which I heartily wish!
