of the Branch held on 23 March 1892.
My dear Baron,
I beg that you will convey to the Victorian Branch of the Geographical Society of
Australasia my best thanks for the honorary membership of their Society which they
have conferred upon me, and assure them that it will at all times be a great pleasure
and satisfaction to me if I can in any way forward their objects and interests.
I thank you for the kind terms of your letter conveying the diploma,
and beg you to believe that my pleasure in receiving it is greatly enhanced by the
circumstance that it should have been granted during the presidency of so distinguished
a man of science as yourself.
