On a visit to meet with Sir Thomas Elder; see M to T. Wilson, 18 January 1892 (in this edition as 92-01-18a). M was met at the railway station in Adelaide on 19 January by SA's Attorney General (R. Homburg), Maurice Holtze and Otto Tepper. While in Adelaide, he also had discussions with Sir Samuel Davenport (South Australian chronicle, 23 January 1892, p. 12). He returned to Melbourne by the 'afternoon express' on 20 January (Express and telegraph (Adelaide), 21 January 1892, p. 3).
