I have the honor to report for the information of the hon. the Chief Secretary, that
Mess. Troedel and Co have now completed the printing of the eighth enlarged edition
of the volume on "Select plants for industrial Culture",
and I beg herewith to submit a copy of the new issue. I beg also respectfully to
forward a requisition for one hundred copies of this edition, which I would like to
utilize for litterary and other departmental interchanges, as they proceed.
I will keep a record of the distribution, should this favor be granted, and may be
allowed to point out, that this book is not an expensive one, but similar to Mr Hayter's
Victorian Year-Book, which is by himself distributed from his Department. I will take
early measures, that the other 900 copies are early brought to the Government's Printing
Office, so that they may from thence be accessible for sale direct or through those
book sellers, who have had the former editions in commission.
