Text in an unknown hand, possibly by Campbell: it has some similarity to the handwriting on the ‘Obligations’ form signed and dated by Campbell that is filed with this letter; individual signatures of supporters. M dated the form.

Walter Scott Campbell Esq. (of Oaklands, Edgecliffe Road, Woollahra near Sydney), for the Fellowship of the Linnean Society.
Mr. W. S. Campbell has been connected with the Civil Service of New South Wales for many years, & his literary productions have tended to promote the agricultural & horticultural interests of the colony.
